Testing Career

Job description

The functionality tester’s main task is to identify the game’s problems or abnormalities. To do this, he or she either completes checklists or, when possible, uses other test cases. The details of the problems found are then entered into a database.

Functionality testing teams usually become involved in a game several months before its release. They ensure the high quality of the final product and adherence to all manufacturing requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Basic English writing skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of different types of games and gaming consoles;
  • Well-developed sense of observation;
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and very determined team player;
  • Passion for the video game industry;
  • Knowledge of Windows;
  • High level of spoken English is considered an advantage;
  • Knowledge of databases is considered an advantage.

Career Opportunities

Having a job as a tester in quality assurance can lead to a position in supervision or additional support. This represents the opportunity to maintain a career in the industry, as our department prefers internal promotions.
